Attempting to focus on our internal awareness combined with caring for the people we love, has helped us realize that the over-scheduled lifestyle many of us lead causes imbalance. Physical, emotional, energetic, behavioural imbalance.

Understanding that we are more than physical beings, we believe that a stressed mind leads to tense muscles, which can lead to discomfort and injury. At Find Your Balance Yoga Studio we encourage our students to link physical movement with deep rhythmic breaths, calming our nervous systems and allowing our muscles to relax, while practicing safely. We incorporate meditation into every class, using the breath, mantra, Guided, and Vipassana techniques to discern negative thinking patterns and create a shift in our mind’s focus.

With regular personal practice and ever improving mindful awareness, our stress levels can begin to lessen. This can cause a number of positive health benefits from decreased blood pressure and heart rate to an enhanced immunity response and a better night’s sleep.

When our stress levels come down we improve our ability to think, live, and act from a more centered place. By naturally creating this internal balance, we physically, emotionally and spiritually feel more grounded. More authentic. Simply better.

At Find Your Balance Yoga Studio, we encourage our students to go beyond the asanas and embrace the other seven limbs of yoga.

Daily, we practice Pranayam, remembering how to breathe correctly. We strive to understand the effects of our breath on our body, especially during times of stress.

Mind – body awareness is also a focus, training ourselves how to listen to and then give our body what it needs at any individual moment. This can facilitate conscious responding instead of unconscious reacting in daily life.

We aim to follow a skillful path with our daily actions, creating thoughtful, healthful living for ourselves and those around us.

We learn to quiet our minds and listen to our thoughts, defining our attachments and aversions — our FEARS. And then we lean into them, become very familiar with them, ever more comfortable with them, until they lose their power over us and we can choose to let them go. We believe that feeling, thinking, speaking and acting from a place of love rather than a place of fear invites a healthier, happier life.

Our intimate setting at Find Your Balance Yoga Studio, ensures you have a personal experience with teachers who believe in supportive encouragement accompanied by gentle hands-on corrections.  If you are looking for classes with a “no pain, no gain” approach, this is not the studio for you.

We believe in listening to our bodies and we find it important to offer modifications for postures in our classes.  This allows you to choose which level of the pose works for you on any given day.

As we continue to live with such frenetic schedules in our sleep deprived society, we have noticed a distinct move toward the need for more Yin based yoga. These deep stretch classes are energetically focused, meditation based and leave you with a peaceful afterglow thanks to the activation of the Para-sympathetic nervous system.
